Most of us woke up everyday listening to shlokas being chanted - either from nearby temple speakers or from radios/ tape recorders or from the voices of parents and grandparents. With passage of time it has transitioned to mobile phones chanting for us. Shlokas are an integral part of our life.
Right from naming a baby, we scan through various shlokas to get the right name. As my father told in a lecture - If its a girl, go to Lalitha Sahasranamam and if its a boy go to Vishnu Sahasranamam.
Since the day I started talking, I have been taught to chant small and big shlokas moving to Narayaneeyam and Bhagavatham. This is not just me, but my amma made sure that kids around the area where we lived also learnt the Shlokas. We used to have Gita Classes, Shloka Classes ranging from kids batches to adult batches to mama-mami batches. The best part is it continues even today with addition of appa giving the support by explaining the meaning of each Shloka to the batches... And of course the batches going online !!
"Shlokas" is not just a repository of hymns or a mere website. It is the dedication, unquestionable faith, spread of goodness, mentoring of many generations by these two great souls. It is an offering to their feet as a mark of GRATITUDE for showing us all the path of righteousness.
Chant SHLOKAS Each Day Every Day
